Our style is naturally evocative, a dynamic feast for the senses. We embrace an essential core of design elements like hand-forged metals, woods with expressive grain, rich leathers, and fabrics with subtly in texture and weave. Chris Shields was recommended to us by a friend. He was easy to work with and is one of the most conscientious professionals we know. He took care of our remodeling project and did an amazing job to accomplish our goals and make us happy. We love our kitchen and our dining room!

My husband and I had a pretty good idea of what we wanted: connect our living spaces by opening walls, optimize our kitchen’s space and functionality while preserving the feel of our existing house. We started with a solid architect and a knowledgeable contractor and thought we had it covered. The reality is, remodeling is not as straightforward as it seems, and Chris came in the picture when we most needed help. He has a methodical approach to his job: first, he got to know us - our tastes and our living style - then, he quickly rolled up his sleeves and went to work thoughtfully and efficiently.

Chris was instrumental in many aspects of our remodeling from selecting the finishes to meticulously reviewing and modifying our electrical/switches plan (which ended up much better after he made the changes). At times, things did not go smoothly with demolition and kitchen installation, and Chris would often make a call to get the crew back on track. These are just a few examples of many things that he did for us.

All in all, Chris is a remarkably reliable designer with an analytical mind. He has solid knowledge of the trade business and is always willing to help resolve problems, including technical ones, outside the typical design work. He was a pleasure to work and we will hire him in again without hesitation.
